I'm the only person in Australia I know of who's even heard of 808.

Everyone I show is impressed with pics n video.

Think it would've sold well if Nokia relesed it here.!

there is probably like 8 people in US who have it.. i dunno.. but I brought it to the office today and it caused a lot of jaw dropping, so they might get couple more sales from that.

Haven't seen a single a single advert for it in the UK as yet.

I'm beginning to think that it won't be available when my contract expires.

No UK carrier will subsidize the 808.

Here in Brazil Nokia has made a few youtube movies in order to show N 808 but they are in portuguese so I will not post them because the things are so strange that none who doens't speak portuguese will understand. Actually, even those who can speak the language will have trouble to figure out what is happening.

They also made a promotion for the few people who pre-ordered the new device through telephone:

1 - the frist 20 people to order will receive a ear phone WH-930 HD Stereo Monster Purity;

2 - the 21st to 40th people to order will receive a memory card Nokia Micro SD de 32 GB.

The price here is R$ 2000,00 or U$ 984,00 or 809,00 euros. I bet it's the most expensive around the world!

Here in the UK I had the N808 on pre-order from Amazon since May 14th, and finally received my device on 19th July.
The cost was 499.  I wanted it not so much for the camera, but for an upgrade for my trusted orange N8.  It does everything I want it to do, and some.
I also own an N9, and a N900 Lumia Batman special edition, the latter of which I will sell because of the awful windows o/s.
I read somewhere that when pureview goes to the lumia range of devices, it will be a less powerful version than that on the N808, so if you want the real thing you would be well advised to get one if you can.
No matter what they say, Symbian will be around for a long time yet IMHO.

I was so impressed with the N808 that I ordered a white one on Thurs 19th which arrived on Fri 20th am. Price 485.

After a long association with Nokia phones I think that this will be my final purchase, as I do not like the Windows o/s at all.  You soon get tired of (or I did) the eye candy that is tiles.

Certainly seems to be the case.

I dread to think how much time and money Nokia invested in the 808 only to see it go to, what seems to be waste?!

Why that? They have branded Pureview wonderfully. No ads, no availability, but global unanimous excellent review. But on one point, its "clunky" OS.

Lumia is already branded as slim and robust.

Lumia + PureView, even with only 16 or 24 MPx, will be viewed as modern, designed and ways ahead in terms of photography.

If my marketing analysis is right, it's not a waste at all (and I'm not judging the WP policy, of course, I just try to stick to the facts)

Well im in Canada Wink but we've had some canadian blogs review the 808 and they liked it but couldn't get over the price

Ive shown mine to friends of mine and some really like it others dismiss it because its not Android Wink

I took it to a local carriers shop for a microsim card and the rep played with the phone and showed it to another employee saying she thought it was "pretty good actually" the other rep didn't say anything just took a look and continued helping another customer
