I really don´t know what to think about some of you.  Viber Team is working on version for symbian so we could use this great app. Even more. They came here to answer our questions. But you´re still whining. WTF?!

I can only say, thank you Viber team for supporting symbian even when so many developers stopped.

It has been over a year since they announced they are working on it, and since 2011 they have been saying it's coming soon but still nothing, not single information about app and what progress they have made...
So if they kept it quiet and weren't banging on last year how it's coming "very soon" it would be ok but like this is just taking the piss, same goes for BB and WP7 users who at least got the half finished version before Symbian tho it being "priority on our developement roadmap".

Also they didn't answer any question in this thread, even simple one like will they release full version for symbian (with calls) or only messaging as they did for BB and WP7!?

All,

The reason we cannot publish any specific details at this stage (release dates, features to be added to the first version released, etc.) is that we have learnt from our mistakes from past projects, like Viber for Blackberry.
As you know, in the technological world it is often that unexpected obstacles are hit, and then releases can be delayed. Moreover, integrating VoIP into Symbian is not such an easy task, and so we are doing everything in our power and will keep doing so in order to complete the first version as soon as we can.

Our goal in publishing this info a year ago was to simply let our Symbian fans know: we are working on it, we still can't promise anything in specific, but you can expect a Viber for Symbian in the future.

We apologize if the wait seems too long, and know that we'll keep working on it, and will keep you posted with news.

thanks for your reply on here!

If the viber teams have something already developed and are in the stage of testing it and ready to work more on it to fix the problem, im sure all Symbian users will be ready to test it out and give feedback for the bugs or problems found. there is no way to make a perfect apps without the users feedbacks. since last year, there should be something already. I guess.

The same response has been there for months. I think there is more chance that most of us will change phone before they release it.

This is so true with S3 and PV808 in the market. LOLzz.. Grin Grin

Nevertheless, I'd still encourage and wait for Viber to release for Symbian.. Wink

Hope to see very soon, but seems the word „soon“ has its own definition in the symbian universe

Thanks for the offer.
For now, the testing is being done internally here in our company. If we decide to expand that to user beta-testing, we will certainly let you know Smiley

"Soon" definition as defined in "SYMBIAN" dictionary :

This word means a period of time that can change it's value itself. It denotes months or years or decades. It takes it value automatically..
Moreover whenever people hear this word,it gives a good feeling as people know it's meaning as explained in urban dictionary!!

All,

We are working as hard as we can on bringing you Viber for Symbian. We apologize for the delay, but it's important to emphasize that the reason for the prolonged wait is our duty to ensure that we release a fully tested and developed application.
