A while back, Viber mentioned and stated on their website that they are working on a version of Viber for Symbian.

Now there is no more mention of this idea happening and neither is there info on their website now.

Anyone knows if there will be a Viber version for Symbian in future?

Off topic note:
Btw the new ios 6 announced recently made me jealous. How I wish we get some cool upgrades for Symbian soon!!

Respond to someones question regarding Viber for Symbian on their facebook, about an hour ago: "Viber for Nokia is still under development. Please stay tuned for system requirements and release dates. Smiley"

The same response has been there for months. I think there is more chance that most of us will change phone before they release it.

No offence but that is response you have been serving us since last year. Good one would be how far you have came to in developement progress? Also will you release only beta version first like for WP and Blackberry, only messaging?

Thanks.

@symbian0 and @Allstar12345 -

Developing an app is not as easy as it might seem Wink
Here in the company we prefer delaying our release longer than expected in order to make sure Viber contains all its intended features, works smoothly, and integrated with the operating system the same it does on iOS and Android.

We unfortunately still don't have any concrete news about the release, but we're working hard, together with Symbian's developers, in order to bring Viber for Symbian to our fans as soon as we can.

We apologize for the delay Sad

That is true, but remember as a company with limited resources, we need to distribute our time and manpower between several different platforms. We didn't say we would neglect Symbian, we're just explaining that it might take a bit more time, but eventually Viber will come to Symbian Smiley

We apologize for the wait, and we promise to keep you posted once we have concrete news.
