Depends on what you want, simple really. Do you want a phone or a tablet?

simple - decide wether you want a phone or tablet ... There cannot b a phone vs tablet battle - it solely depends on your taste - wether you want to carry a much compact 3.5'' iphone 4s or go for ipad if you don't mind the size and portability
