With only some days left until the CES 2012 event, the news are starting to get leaked. Today, ITProPortal have posted the new Android phone by SonyEricsson, the Nozomi Xperia HD, featuring the long anticipated 12 Mpixel camera.

With a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 chipset, this phone should be a dual-core at 1.5Ghz but the benchmarks tests don't confirm this. The phone also features an 1 Gb of RAM and 8 Gb of internal memory.

Here are some more pics and the benchmark test:

I must say that the phone looks awesome and of course the features will also great. Now it seems that very soon a mobile itself take a place for digital camera. And market of digital camera will be down.

You are joking right ? Without increasing the size of the camera sensor and only upping the pixel count only thing you get is publicity stunt. Test it against any dedicated camera with half the megapixels and do the statement again.

I don't think that's true for just any compact camera, I bought an SE some days ago and it takes really good pictures, even in the dark.

What you say about the sensor is true though..
