After many rumors, leaked images and rough sketches, the new Nokia 801 has become official on the China site of Nokia Conversations.

This new Symbian phone by Nokia will arrive at the China market with the name 801T and will be directed to the high-end segment with the specific intention of conquering the Business market.   This phone will feature a 4" screen, a built-in telescopic TV antenna and NFC. No more specs were given at the Nokia site and it's not known if this phone will reach the world markets or if it's specifically for China. One thing is certain, the phone does look great! Check out some more images that we could gather for you.

If you look the the Nokia 803 topic that only has some sketches and look at this phone, it does have some similar looks.  Wink  This model looks like the N8 but has 3 front buttons like the C7 and the 803 draw and with a back camera that looks like the C7.

Okay so it's running Anna which means either that it's going to be released in January before Belle which is unlikely - it's more likely a bad photoshop render again from Nokia.

Camera is only their standard 8MP which makes it hard to call a true N8 successor.

The TV aerial is something that would never be released anywhere but Asian markets.  I think we'll never see this phone.

It's not supposed to be the N8's successor.

Notice the "T" at the end of the 801T's name? It's the T7-00's successor, which is an N8 designed exclusively for the Chinese market that's stripped of the 12 MP camera.

Expect the international 801 to look exactly like this phone except with a protruding bulge in the back and a high MP camera.

The T is for TD-SCDMA, an air interface that only China Mobile uses. I think it uses similar spectrum to WCDMA but with different, incompatible coding. If the 801T is the T7-00's successor, the 801 could very well be the N8's successor. This device would rock with a 4" or larger CBD screen provided Symbian can run higher resolutions.

Nokia's numbering schemes are getting weird though - the Lumia 800 is a WP7 device, the 801 is a Symbian Belle device, what the heck is the 803?

I hope 803 comes with Tizen (next version of MeeGo) Tongue

Let's just cross fingers that the true N8 successor won't look at all like any of these! And still will be Symbian... or it won't be the N8 successor at all  Cool
