With the 3 day outage for Blackberry devices, police in Dubai and Abu Dhabi reported a sharp decline in traffic accidents.
It was reported that accidents fell 20% in Dubai and 40% in Abu Dhabi. Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim from the Dubai Police department said "The accidents that occur from the use of these devices range between minor and moderate ones, but at times they are deadly," The largest demographic decrease was noted to be within the range of young adults and men.According to sources, there is a fatal accident in Abu Dhabu every two days and an accident every three minutes in Dubai. So as a lesson to others... dont text and drive.
