The iPad 2 (among other things) is probably the best touch screen gaming device on the market. One of the major drawbacks to gaming on a touch screen device is the lack of tactile response while playing. Ten One Design came up with very innovative product - Fling, analog joystick for iPad.

Fling is made of flexible, transparent, plastic spiral with capacitive contact in the center that replicates the thumbs touch on the screen. Center of the contact is concave, so your thumb fits comfortably on without slipping off during playing. On the bottom there are two suction cups that hold the joystick firmly on the screen of the iPad. Thanks to them and it's transparent design Fling is hardly noticeable when the iPad screen is on and you can easily line it up with the onscreen virtual pad. Spiral design creates physical resistance, so when you move the joystick off-center and lift up your finger it returns back to a centered position.
Before putting the joystick wipe the screen of your iPad to prevent suction cups to slide around or pop off. Dust, sand, or other hard grit trapped under the Fling   while playing can scratch the screen, so wiping the joystick is also recommended. Fling comes with it's own microfiber storage and travel bag that can be also used as a cleaning cloth.
To use the Fling just place the thumb pad over the center of the games virtual joystick and press the suction cups down. There is no need of other accessories like cables or batteries. Fling works with most games that have virtual joystick controls.   Meteor Blitz ( my favorite game of all time ), Geometry Wars, Pac-Man for iPad, Death Rally, NBA Jam, Mini Gore, Super Mega Worm, all of them work great with the Fling, control is more accurate, precise and fluid. There are some games that have bigger virtual pad than the diameter of the joystick and Fling will not work with them properly. Games with swiping controls also don't work with the Fling.
The Fling by Ten One Design is a great accessory for iPad gamers. I was impressed by its performance, it feels smooth, control is accurate and fluid and the tactile response significantly improves the gaming experience. The build quality is great, its small, light, portable and it makes playing games more fun and enjoyable. Highly recommended !
