Hands-on with Sony Ericsson X12 (Anzu)
«

The folk at mobile-review takes a look at the Sony Ericsson Anzu (Sony Ericsson X12). Head over to
this post
to read their impressions. This is the Sony Ericsson X12, which is also known as "Anzu". There are wild rumours going on in the industry that this phone is supposed to be the next flagship device for Sony Ericsson, with 4.3 inch display and - most important of all - with either Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) or 3.0 (Honeycomb) on board.

X12 for 12mp or 2012??
I would get one if it's not a falafel sandwich,if it gets rooted and if devs like Enom,CM and Rodriguez will launch custom roms on it...which was not the case of X10

Eh, typical for SE...
The prototypes running OS v2.1.
3-4 months later when it is launched, it is said to get OS v2.2...
In summer of 2011 only to get updated to OS v2.3...
I hope they don't kill this device again by lacking behind with old OS...
By the way, it is said to have the same CPU as Desire Z (800MHz Snap2).

It's in Beta level as Eldar said, the UI is not customised by SE yet so it's rooted for SE devs to build their own Rom
As for hardware wise, the X10 was already huge with 4'' so what will be this 4.3'' version??

There are Devs working on a Custom 2.2 ROM for X10 at XDA, so there are devs working on it.
The X12 seems realy good IMO, i wont be getting it though, next upgrade will be a dual core droid.

Indeed. Why wait 3-4 months for Anzu, if you can get Desire HD today?

I wonder when HtC will present its Desire 2...
I hope they will finally use an 8mp camera and upgrade some features as multimedia player, camera(like SE style) and weather(sounds)

Most probably next year.
It would be a worthy upgrade if they make one with a dual core CPU.

I don't care with CPU speed as long as it's at least as fast as my N1, HTC phones lack multimedia fun like a better camera like SE ones and loud/clear speaker like Nokia's,they should pass the stage of ''you want a camera phone buy a C905,here it's only for business people'' because they simply can put all together in one phone nowadays.
SE tried with the X10 but due to their poor experience in Android scene they didn't understand that they should prepare an update every 6 months and make rootability easier...I hope they learned from their mistakes and that the X12 will be a jewel
