What exactly is this supposed to show?  That a better camera is better than a worse camera?

About the only thing is showed is that people using samsung phones and commenting on comparisons are, on average, much smarter then those using iphone 4 and commenting on comparisons. Because similar comparison on endgadget had iphone crowd literally lining up just to tell us how iphone pictures and video were "much better in every way".

It's pretty damn obvious that 12MP camera on a phone whose major selling point is the camera is going to be better then camera of a phone that has it just because it has to have one and doesn't even have a proper flash. It would be far more interesting to compare N8 to actual camera-centric phones and see the difference instead, even if these aren't smartphones.

I'm still too busy being amazed that N8 doesn't offer to output image as an uncompressed PNG. Most of the issues I've seen with the camera seem to be about JPEG compression messing the image up.

No, it's supposed to show how the N8's camera is better than the Samsung Galaxy S's camera. Duh. The Galaxy's camera doesn't even come close to the iPhone's 5mp. >.>

The difference isnt earth shattering, its a bit disappointing that the N8 can only produce that kind of image quality when its touted as a camera phone having a "larger than avg" sensor size compared to P&S camera.

Ok, I'm in nitpicking mode today so please forgive me Smiley

The mod doesn't let you take raw photos, at least the one thats been released. JPG at 100% quality isn't RAW.

PNG employs lossless data compression and doesn't support uncompressed mode. There is no point... It would then be a ordinary BMP.
