Drop in Nokia Maps 3.04(91) into your custom firmware..

All supported languages included in a separate folder, separated by language id(s)

Tested on N97, N97 mini, and 5800

All options work, sync, location manger and the saving of settings...

Nokia Map(s) 3.04(91) to ROFS2 or ROFS3

(ID) = the language ID(s) you want to add to your Maps Install

see language_ids.txt to match your language with the listed ID.


1. open the folder /maps/languages/(ID)/rofs2

2. copy the contents of that folder to the "install rofs2" folder.

3. repeat step (2) to add more languages to your Nokis Maps 3.04(91) install

4. copy the contents of the "install rofs2" folder to your ROFS2 folder

5. cook and enjoy...

Final notes....

The "/maps/other" folder contains other parts of the default Nokia Maps install that are not always needed.
You can add each of those options to your maps install by...


INSTALL PIPS

1. copy the contents of the "/maps/other/pips" to to your firmware ROFS2 folder.


INSTALL OPEN C LIBRARIES

1. copy the contents of the "/maps/other/open c libraries" to to your firmware ROFS2 folder.


INSTALL STANDARD C LIBRARIES

1. copy the contents of the "/maps/other/standard c libraries" to to your firmware ROFS2 folder.

None of the ones I tried worked properly, and none of them have 3.04 in their firmware, they only have 3.03 in those firmware packages... I also did a search before posting, and I didn't find anything that had a 3.04(19) install package for download.

I will update this sometime today and add the option to (ADD or NOT ADD the open_c plugin pips and share_online) I know as of right now pips is not needed for all applications, but some 3rd party applications that already plug into maps via pips won't work without it.

They are in with the "maps core" folder. I put them them there because to me they are really part of the core maps install. If you want them separate from the "core maps" folder tell me and I will add another download that has them in different folders (ie, /maps/other/wifi ini/ and /maps/other/wifi server/)

yes i installed maps core and share location but did not get the server... and map panning and zooming is slow compared to when my brother installed the sis file on his 5800...

is the way to use sis contents to unpack ovi maps to put it into ur cooked firmware ? becasue there is a folder called d_private dont know wat folder or or rofs file that it correpsonds to ?

i know c: is rofs2
e: is memory card
and z is rofs3  i think
but not sure about d ?

Mapsplazer****.extension is part of the share location application that allows you to share your current location with friends on FACEBOOK. It's not part of of the CORE and only should be included if you want to share your location with your friends on FACEBOOK. But to me it's a worthless app. I mean it uses nearly (4MB) of space and then it runs in the background every time you start maps. Maps without share location running uses nearly (30%) less battery power. Really it's resource hog! Just another one them stupid Nokia idea's! But I will say the latest maps beta (CORE) maps 3.04(146) is much better than any previous version. It seems more accurate and in my battery drain down test uses (14%) less battery power than maps 3.04(115) did.
