Where did you place your firmware files? Have you tried selecting MCU PPM and APE variant manually?

Make sure to change the filename extension of your .c00 file to .c0r.

Actually you have to do it this way

1. untick ini

2. untick crt308

3. tick manual flash and dead usb

If your phone is connected in PC suite mode then you don't have to press the power button in between each selection you just click on the MCU, PPM, CNT, APE Variant and wait for the pop up window and then choose your file location and files according to this-

1. MCU= your core

2. PPM= rofs2

3. CNT= rofs3

4. APE Variant= UDA

Then click flash turn phone off and click ok on the pop up and press power button until it says phone found and wait until it says done ( roughly 1 min.- 1 1/2 min.)

USE THIS MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK.

TRY THIS ONLY IF U ARE NOT ABLE TO FLASH WITH PHOENIX

Downgrade process requires the pkey hardware! It is not recommended to do a Firmware Downgrade (will brick your phone)!

this guide will explain how to flash your dead nokia phone using jaf tool ...
this guide is especially for those who have trouble installing phoenix on their sytems or those who cant revive their phones using phoenix

especially for windows vista users as phoenix deesnt support vista officially `and jaf tool has support for windows vista 32 bit omly

go here and download jaf tool and pkey and follow the instructions on how to install it on xp
 and on vista

make sure u have fw file and u put in directory
C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products
or
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\DataPackage\Products

now once ur device is connected

go to "bb5" tab

1. select manual flash

now for those who have downloaded firmware file using navifirm tool just click the tab "use ini " and jaf will search for firmware file in your desktop
OR
for those who have flash files for a firmware ( advance users )
press on MCU and PPM and CNT one by one and select the required flash image files.
( MCU: main image file, larger than other PPM: it contain language pakages CNT: it contains multimedia files )

use either of the two ways of slecting the firmware

2 .for normal flashing only mark "CRT 308" , "Factory Settings" , "Normal Mode" and press flash

3.for flash dead phones only mark "Dead USB" , "Normal Mode" , "Factory Settings"and press flash then do simple 1 power on phone.

Have you removed applications and data in your microSD card? It could be causing your problems.

hi. i dropped my nokia 5800XM and when i picked it up it was switched off. so i went home and tried to charge it nothing happened. the bettery seems to be fine. cox i checked it with a friends phone. anyways i searched the internet for a way to bring my phone back to life and i had tried almost everything. some says its a power switch problem. i tried power switch jumper and many other ways. but didnt work and last i found this thread and decided to try it. i downloaded everything settings was ok. when i press flash from jaf software, it asks to press the power switch . nothing happened. my phone didint switch on. and jaf software says " searching for phone... not found" so guys is there any way to bring my phone back to life.? what could be the problem?

I didn't have microsd installed in my phone. i flashed it countless times. there is now product code etc but the memory full problem is still there. last time i flashed it with a cfw i saw in a ram manager that there is this svcommad manager or something like that that keeps eating the ram so there is about 1.5 mb left even after a fresh restart. that is causing the problem. even native applications like messaging says memory full when i open it.

I wanted to try a new cfw but ran into some problem.
i) cannot flash through phoenix as the hash of file is changed.
ii) PKEY_Emulator is failing to open JAF, it just sits still there after clicking the "GO" button.
Anyone had that problem if then how did you resolve that.
P.S JAF used to work fine for me some 3-4 months back.
Any help is appreciated Smiley
