ok been told by guys at samsung, to put full rompatcher into z:/ which i did

copy the edited efile for open4all, sysap for power reboot, and installserver for installing which i did

didnt work

1) sysap - gave me contact retailer after flash - deleted

2) efile ok, does nothing tho

3) installserver couldnt install any app signed or unsigned lol

must be a way, if rompatcher can do it

Rompatcher patches has SnR line which means search and replace. Rompatcher replace before system but only when applied and not in Z:, like patch for remove voice rec beep. It reads modified avkon.dll and ptiengine.dll from Z:/sys/bin. You need manualy replace files in Z: with modded files and you don't need rompatcher anymore. Create them with hex if you know how to read what line of code in file patch changes.

If i wanted to do a permanent patch for something... say no red led when taking a photo..

I opened up campdd.pdd in a hex editor, and as the patch has the following:

Code:
SnR:sys\bin\campdd.pdd:0100010000001500010001000000:0100010000001500010000000000
SnR:sys\bin\campdd.pdd:0100000000001500010001000000:0100000000001500010000000000

I searched for "0100010000001500010001000000" at first and found nothing... same for the other codes.

can someone explain what im doing wrong? thanks!

EDIT: noob error  Lips sealed wasn't searching in hex mode... i was searching in text mode

EDIT2: doesnt work anyway... Camera error

File needs to be dissasambled, changed then packed and put in flash file. Try dissasambling with IDA.
Edit: Here is screenshot

Think red flash is called preflash. We need to change START to STOP and put one empty space, cause stop has one letter less.
I'm noob in IDA also, need to find how fast find hex address and change it.

Sorry but i wouldn't know where to start.... I don't even have IDA or anything like that...

Is it possible to post a pre-patched file? It would make more sense for the others that want this too..

@steven25
i thinks phone makes crc check when starting an app -> loading it to rom.
i translated an app and copied only the exe file to sys\bin\...
app didnt start.
then i putted into a sis file and reinstalled -> app started succesful.

I agree with yener90.. however only the executables have crc checks? \private and \resource are fine...

maybe its \sys that is all crc'ed...
