But data transfer mode would work fine if the font was put on the phone's internal memory, is that right?

So I copied the required font to a resource/Fonts folder on my storage card, put the card in the phone and started it up.

And hey presto only my Text messaging had the new font.

So, looking at the directory with Y Browser I noticed that the font filenames were in Upper case except the s60ZDIGI.ttf one!!

    Is Symbian case sensitive??

When I look at the filenames in file explorer they're all lowercase!!

And I can't put the card in and change the font name using Y Browser!!

If you need to reset your font remove the memory card, reboot the phone, start Y-Browse and rename the Fonts folder, that will do it.

Also NO, symbian is not case sensative I dont think, because you can name the Fonts folder "Fonts" or fonts and its the same thing.

At last it works, seems you have to follow the instructions precisely and create a 'Fonts' folder with your renamed fonts in then copy the folder to the resouce folder on your storage card.

Copying the font files individually doesn't seem to work.

I have been playing around and the best font I have so far is Comic Sans MS (except that the top of the capitals is generally cut off)

Tahoma is a nice clean one, as is Calibra.

The only thing I have noticed is that the Font on the calculator doesn't appear to be affected!! Weird
