This comes simply because when I bought my 5800XM I had no idea about the RM stuff, so when I found the blog and read about the CFWs I just downloaded the first one I saw and flashed it. :/ I stayed in he ignorance till when I tried to flash the Omnia HS in my FW.

well mate, what if i tell you that you can actually flash back to 51.0.006 without a jaf box?

mate, the only reason for different firmware numbers is the different rm versions. meaning 51.0.006 is actually the same as 51.2.007.

so you can safely flash back to RM-356 51.0.006. your phone will not be bricked.

I've tried doing it before and it dies.

When it finishes the flash, the JAF says an error message and the phone lights the screen and shuts down some times till it dies completely. The only way to save it is to flash it back to RM-428.

maybe your device is RM-428 in the first place? check with your product code underneath your battery.

    have you tried phoenix?

let's continue this discussion through pm as we are way off topic.
