If your just looking to stream the media from your PC to phone you can use ORB

In settings make sure to use flash, I have used orb since I had my 5800 with no problems, video quality is very good and streaming music is easy too however I tend to use mobbler for music as I have a huge last.fm collection.

You will need to download Orb to your PC and configure and then go to mycast.orb.com from the built in browser as opera doesn't support flash enter log in details once and then save as a bookmark for easy access. its easy to navigate on the mobile view but the media center view works OK too and looks nice.

Any help needed just let me know, hope it helps.

Another thing that is good about orb is the fact you can play .avi files direct without needing to convert them. use on WiFi and its perfect and over HSDPA too just make sure you have an unlimited data plan as it can get into the 100's of MB very quickly with movies

I tried symSMB as suggested below and I like it however most of the files I need on my pc arnt compatible with phone eg. movies and I have a problem with an "overflow" error when trying to play .mp3 but ill persist thanks for point that app out for us
