    Default Light sensor/display illumination control

Hi there, I got a simple idea to improve our devices.
Speakin about 5800xm, should be applicable to most v5 devices.

The whole explanation and motivation is here:
We got summer in europe, sun is shining, using the device with 'light sensor' set to 50% is pretty hard. Therefore, increasing it to 100% is necessary. What do I need to do that?
There is display "light sensor" control present in settings -> phone -> display -> light sensor, but being so deeply hidden it makes me rather hide in shade than click all the way through. This setting is so useless.
There is other case scenario - sometimes in the night there comes sms, or u simply want to check the clock. Complete darkness, unlock phone and ur attacked with light so intense u are blind for next next 1 min.

    Idea is here:
Make sure phone uses max available range from 'light sensor' settings. I mean by that - in the direct sunlight - absolute max display illumination - and in complete darkness - only 1% or so.

Just an idea, I think it really makes sense.

or create a mod/app that completely over rides the light sensor settings all the time, so that we could have it set at high brightness or full power save mode on a simple click. i wonder if those many light control applications i keep seeing have this capability.

but it always bothers me, i set my brightness at lowest intensity so that it gives me more battery life, cuz of my bluetooth headphones music and internet usage i barely last a day with the battery. maybe a mod that completely locks the brightness to what intensity we set it at, could be nice. well i guess we all have our own requirements!

EXACTLY! I was looking for the same! I've also tough on some kind of Patch since many CFW have 50% light by default (is that a patch o a config file?)

Thanks for pointing us in the right direction, that Light Control program should came by default in our Nokia's

PS: Tried also to do that before with Python with no luck

Unfortunately that app only adjusts the light based on time, not on ambient illumination.
If would be better if the sensor settings would more extreme.

There is a file in "Private/10202be9/10200C8C.txt" that controls the default intensity and the sensitivity of the light sensor. I tried changing values but it didn't make a significant difference.
Also light sensitivity can't be adjusted to more than 100.

Does somebody know the name of the executable that polls the light sensor and adjust the display brightness?? Maybe we can replace it with something more configurable.

I would already be satisfied with an app working like btswitch that I can put on the homescreen.
Pressing it switches the brightness between min and max (or min/mid/max).
SPB shell has such a "widget".
    Thanks,

I'm running SPB shell and saw that widget somewhere before but can't remember where can you post a link to it please?
