How did you set your JAF? What is checked? Can you post a screen shot? I tried with JAF and it doesn't flash the phone.

I couldn't get it to work with phoenix, so I used JAF, which worked like a treat. First off, you have to add the following line to the model ini file:
    [RM-559]
    Nokia X6 Cable

then, i put the firmware file in the phoenix place,

then followed the jaf tutorial, BUT, where it says to press the power button once, i pressed it, waited about a second, and pressed it again, and that worked.

Yeah. I don't know why Phoenix doesn't work for X6. I used JAF to flash my friend's X6 too.

I updated to the 2010 version of phoenix, and it detects the phone that way, but i still get a crc checksum mismatch with your patched version of the file. Although, that might be related to region, I don't know

I am getting the same error. However, I can use Phoenix to flash my N97 without any problem. I don't know why.

Although the flashing worked fine, rompatcher didn't work, so I suspect it might be a compatibility issue with the uda files.
If i upload my region uda file, can you put rompatcher in it?

Could you please tell me how to add and where to add
    this line:
    [RM-559]
    Nokia X6 Cable
    ?

or could you please send me or upload a file to be replaced with?

download the attached file, extract, and put in into C:\Program Files\ODEON\JAF

now the x6 should appear in the ini list
