My point is that Symbian 3 is designed to run on better hardware than 434mhz, 128mb RAM, and no gpu. I didn't say Symbian 3 won't be ported, I said it probably won't be.

All I'm saying is that Symbian 3 on a current Nokia would likely end up running slower than Symbian 1, which has been designed to run on the hardware provided, which is why all Nokia Symbian 1 devices have very close hardware. Have you tried Qt on Symbian 1? It doesn't run great. That's not good considering Nokia wants to integrate Qt into the platform.

True, the Satio does have a real 3D accelator built-in. Hopefully they bring ^3 as an update for the Satio.

Quite the possibilty. SE might do it for the Satio and the Vivaz, but I wouldn't expect it for an i8910, as Samsung is terrible at providing firmware updates for anything. Unofficial ports will happen on all three of those phones though.

On the bright side theres been some success with cracking the CORE file of the 5800 and instsalling the N97 fw on it. So maybe work can get started soon hopefully.
What I really want is the homescreen though

I've been thinking, if Nokia just gave us the processor/ram/gpu of the N8, Symbian^1 really wouldn't be so bad. The only thing I hate about it is the keyboard. Take a look at the default Android keyboard, or even the damn iPhone keyboard, then look at the s60v5 keyboard, trash. Specially since there's no portrait full keyboard, use to be on the 5800, not anymore.
