    Default Re: Give the N97, N97 Mini, X6 & 5800 a swift kick.

Man, i have an installation error: "Update Error"

I tried to install the Pimp Plus V8.0.4.
    First of course i signed...
    I have a N97-3 "unhacked" LTA version.
I don┤t have another version of your SW.
I changed the date of the phone but still the same error...

I have to install the classic version of pimp? Or i just have to wait another new version for the N97?
I read some pages and it seems like no one else had this problem...

    Thanks!

    Hi bronxboy,

previously i installed your PJP6v8 for 5800 then i uninstalled it and installed the new PJP8 v4 Classic For 5530, 5230, 5800. i don feel the speed with the new PJP8v4 Classic (or Beta, which i tried also). Screen rotation is slow, KS is slow, menu, apps, browsing is slow, juz like the plain old nokia fw without hack. I followed your instruction. I restart my 5800 everytime after i installed or uninstalled your PJP. I don hv any update error during installation.

Now i already uninstalled PJP8v4. I use Y-browser n go into C:\Private\10202be9. there are a lot of .txt file in there. PJP uninstallation should have remove the related files rite?

I do hv other hacks from ROMpatcher but there was no conflict during PJP6v8 where your hacks worked nicely. But the new PJP8v4 seems not working.

Can i manually remove the related txt files that PJP put into C:\Private\10202be9? Is there anyway I can know which txt file is for what purpose?

there is an application to unpack the sis, then you have to put the files on your rofs2 file. Other users made it and the only thing that doesn't work of this mod is the screen rotation.

Sorry to hear that but I'm well aware of the install issue. unfortunately at the moment the solution is to just keep installing it till it takes. there is however A list of all the files on the 1st or 2nd page of this post.

ive installed the new beat for the 5800 not sure if this was best. whats the difference by the way between it and classic ?

since i installed the first hack i notice the incredible internet speed change and the sound getting louder but very little else to be honnest.

i dont see any difference with the beta and the original. scrolling is quite stuttery on the apps list

    BUMP

Okay, hear is the deal. This is for you having problems.

    1. Uninstall Pimp Juice Plus.
    2. reboot
    3. install s60V5 Pimp Juice Plus 8 Patch 4all.
    4. reboot
    5. install Pimp juice Plus 8 v (whatever) ontop of the patch
    6. reboot.

    & Hopefully it works now.

you will know if KS is smooth & constant.
