    Default When Core Get Hacked, Could It Possible to Port N900 to N97?

    Guys, when the core get hacked, will modders able to port Maemo 5 to N97? Just a question and idea

    No for sure,but they can port other s60v5 like n97 to 5800 and so on...

    I'll go ahead and explain why the answer is no, or atleast why I think it is.

    First, hardware, the hardware used in the n900 blows away any other Nokia touch phone (god I hope the s60v5 C6-00 has better hardware to handle Symbian 1)

    Second, screen resolution is different, which would cause some UI issues.

    Third, chipset's different. Think, all modern Nokia phones use ARM processors, while the n900 uses a Cortex A8 (I believe)

    The 3G bands used in the phones are also different, which would also cause issues.

    So it'll never happen.

    i've been thinking. Maemo and Symbian, at their absolute core, are nothing alike. As in, there won't be a rofs2/rofs3 etc etc or anything like that. It'd be like trying to install Windows, Ubuntu or openSUSE, or even OS X.

    Just not possible.

    The Cortex A8 (if you're right and it is used) is still an ARM based CPU!
