i agree with u... but then tell me when u had an option to buy n 97 then y did u buy a 5800.
it is the cost that matters... and yes... 5800 has everything in it but the thing u mentioned are more than enough to prove that 5800 is not as good as n97... n97 homescreen rules... can u evr compare it with the unuseful 5800 contact bar??
no.. the slider and powerful qwerty keypad.
sir i do respect ur point of view but reality can't be changed.. n 97 is the best (but it should be cheap, which it isn not)..

Well, let me talk as a former N97 user...
I had N97 for 8 months. I really liked it and tried so hard to overlook its hardware and software faults.
I modded it, I installed all the apps I needed, I had to hard-reset it a couple of times and spend a few nights re-organising it...
And then, all of a sudden, I won a Nokia 5230 through a Coca-Cola contest!
At first I said "What? No WiFi? No 5MP camera? No keyboard? Ah... I won't bother..!"
But, 7 days later, my N97 was in its box and sold.
That's the hard reality. 5230 (which is a 5800 rip-off, I admit) did its job way better than my N97.
    Faster, no restarts, no freezes...
More internal memory, more RAM even with 10 applications always running in the background.
Guys, I don't know HOW, but I know it serves ME better. But that's just me.
    Or it isn't...?
Nokia admitted its failure concerning the N97.
It's high time we did too.

That's because N97's homescreen kills lots of RAM. Besides, less features means less services/apps running in background, so you get a faster and lighter phone. But seriously, I'd rather the 5530 cos WiFi is a very big deal to me.
