Default TIPS on modding firmware updated 10/02/10

    do at your own risk

ok, so you read the nokiaextractor post and read it a million times

    now to modify your firmware

    theme effects

/resource/ find effects folder and delete - copy theme effects you want into /resource/ make sure the folder you place is called effects.

    hack patch

    place patcher.ldd and patchershadow.ldd into /sys/bin folder

    other mods

mods like camera mod, c to e cache mod, place and overwrite in the right /private/ folder

disable messaging, logs, clock etc at boot time

gain at some mb of ram doing this and speedier phone.
first copy file starter_background_apps.rsc to pc and edit using hexeditor
just place a $ on the .exe you want disabling, be careful what you disable tho

    startup screens

find the images and animations you want to use, place and overwrite these to /resource/apps/

    startup sound

find and cut a mp3 you want and rename to startup.mp3 and place in /data/
next find 101F8763.txt and edit that so startup.aac is called startup_tone.mp3 and place to \private\10202be9\

    kind of delete fixed apps

    example the about about.

delete all about files in rofs2

about.exe is in rom so to stop this you need to create a file, so take any .exe outta of z:/sys/bin and edit with hex editor, delete everything inside, then add a few lines of ffffffff in it just to give it some bytes

copy to sys/bin in rofs2 and flash - no more about app

only tested on that file, becareful what you try it on, an system app could kill your phone

rename open applications when pressing and holding menu key

open avkon.rsc in /resource/ edit and goto line 6D10 and should say, open applications you got 18bytes to play with mine is now steve's apps dont try adding any more than that or you wont like the results

Enable File Caching for ALL drives for faster phone

    place in z:/sys/

rename inbox, outbox, sent, drafts, my folders in messaging

open msg.rxx and change the words to what you like, remember if you adding larger words the file size will have to be changed,
dont ask me i dont know how to, anyone info? :P

    more to come guys
