You have a bunch of avi files and you want to watch them on 5800XM/N97? You know that these phones don't support avi format and so you would go ahead and do a lengthy video conversion that would take hours...

There may be another way, and it is called "container re-packaging"!
    1) First of all, check your source avi files. Use a tool to see avi file properties (for example, Format Factory). In Format Factory go to Advanced - Media File Info. Select the video and look for the line "Format Settings, BVOP". If this is "NO", then you are in luck (otherwise, go back to converting videos....).
    2) Select a good video encoder, for example Mediacoder, and open the video file. Select these settings:
    video - as "copy",
    audio - as "copy"
    container - as "MP4"
    and press encode.

After about 5sec( ) you will have a MP4 video file watchable on 5800XM/N97.
Does the DivX player work on the 5800? It does on my e63...

It works on 5800XM, but you will not be pleased with the playback. See here for more info: http://forum.dailymobile.net/index.p...c,11008.0.html

    I got One Question.
The earphone provided with the phone, Dont you think its too long. the mouthpiece is located a bit far away to use.
Or I am not using it in the proper way.
    Any help really appriciated
    Thnx
That was what i was thinking all these 3 or so years since my first N95, N958gb, N96, 5800 and now my N97.. and only a couple of weeks ago I figured it out, while sitting in a coffeshop (no less, hahah) doing nothing trying to get the radio feature started on the N97..
You're supposed to slide the longer wire back to the slot on the shorter one making a loop so that u can let it just hang around your neck. Hence when plugged into the remote controller/mic part, the mic settles nicely around just below your chin area so as to pick your voice in a telephone call.. Its such a great idea created by some genius that really requires a pure genius (me, hahhaah) to figure it all out.. c",) And Nokia simply didn't bother to explain it in the user guide. (or maybe they did but i'd simply never bothered to read them)
HOWEVER... these earphones never seemed to be able to stick in ma ears properly so i never bothered to use them and simply give them away to whoever's ear fits.. hahahha... ooohh Nokia...

You can turn off all connections by choosing the Offline profile but you can't only turn off WiFi. But all apps will ask you to connect to wifi unless you specify for automatic connection so you will always know when a connection is being made

Need hacked phone to see private folder.
Delete cache folder in E:\private\101f8857\cache and C:\private\101f8857\cache.
It would be good also to delete picture cache thumbnails folder (P...) in each folder where pictures are.
    Restart phone. Open gallery then.
