@UBF, Windows Media and Quicktime are commercial programs. : - )

Both are purposed to particular system.

Best program to opening movies on our 5800 is SmartMovie. Just try it.

Follow the Format Factory conversion guide and I guarantee you that all converted videos will play on 5800XM.

Actually, WMP and QT are "reserved" by Windows and MAC OS, so Nokia has to look for somewhere else.
The RealPlayer on S60V5 is very simple and misses a lot of features.
However, in my opinion the RealPlayer beats SmartMovie in therms of playback quality (has to do with the way they are programmed for S60 devices).

    That's because ***.

Container != codec. You can out EVERYTHING into mp4 container, but RealPlayer will only play most vanilla MPEG-4 and AVC streams (forget about stuff like QPEL or CABAC)

FOR ALL OF U THOSE DON'T NO ABOUT AVI AND ANOTHER FORMATS.
    GUYS..................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AVI Has LESS MEMORY SPACE LIKE A MOVIE HAS ABOUT 700MB TO 800MB AND ALSO NICE QUALITY TOO SO, IN 5800 IT WON'T PLAY AVI FORMAT THATS WAY PEOPLE SEARCHING OF CODES FOR 5800 MOBILE

THERE IS ALSO ONE THIG THAT IF U CONVERT AVI FORMAT TO ANOTHER FORMAT WHICH WORKS FOR 5800.
THEN U GET SOME PROBLEM FOR SPACE
    LIKE
    eg:-
A SONG MAY BE OF 7 TO 10 MBS IN AVI FORMAT
IF U CONVERT IT BY ANY CONVERTER IT CONVERTS IN>>>>
25 to 30 MBS SO U CAN IMAGINE HOWMUCH IT IS USELESS TO CONVERTING.
SO, ANY ONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT ANY KIND OF CODE AND PLAYER WHICH MAKES 5800 PLAYER TO PLAY AVI CODE WITHOUT TAKING ANY KIND OF SPACE MORE THEN OF ITS ORIGNIAL SPaCE,PLEASE GIVE ANY KIND OF INFORMATION
    ThanX

    @sahajlan,
My eyes hurt when I try to read your post (capital letters)...

Anyway, I'm afraid what you have posted makes little sense.
The primary video format in 5800XM is MP4 and not avi, so videos are also converted into MP4 for playback.
The conversion can yield 2 times smaller file size than the original file and still be in good quality.
See here a guide to one of such popular converters called Format Factory: http://forum.dailymobile.net/index.p...ic,9857.0.html
