Default is Google going to release a touch Gmail app

Hello people I’m new to the forums,

Bought my Nokia 5800 on Friday and was really disappointed to find out it has no email app, and for the life of me i cant figure out what spawn of Satan 'Mail for Exchange' is supposed to do.

So wanted to know if Google is planning on releasing a good touch Gmail app, like that on the iPhone, easy and simple to use/set up and actually takes up the whole screen rather than having fake soft hardware keys on the screen and so on..

You can set up a gmail pop3 or imap account if you want. Gmail is supported so you only have to provide your email, password and account type, i.e. pop3 or imap and all the other config is set up automatically. I have done this on my phone for gmail and yahoo mail accounts .

the email support thats built into the messaging app is quite terrible.

Works with my gmail account but doesnt fetch the right messages, only ones from around a month ago, as if it is living in the past!

There is an amazing app for S60 V3 on the nokia beta labs that works outstandingly, but I dont think it will work on 5800

I use my gmail in the phones browser btw, the mobile version works very well.

The Gmail app can work full screen, you just have to go to the app. manager, highlight Gmail, select suite settings and make the appropriate changes.

You can also leave the app running in the background, but there isn't a new message notification that i'm aware of for it.

Mail 4 Exchange if for MS Exchange Push Email. You will need an Exchange server or subscribe to one in order to get this to work. Try mail4exchange, that works really well and is probably your best bet.

One caveat to the built-in client is the formatting, which is plain text and I want HTML formatting!
