Default [POLL] Nokia 5800 battery life

    Hello,
I have (like some people saw in another topic) my battery that is not lasting more than 24h with my 5800.I have from the beginning selected under Wireless LAN settings-->options the ''show wlan availability'' as ''Never''.Is it enough to consider that my Wifi is Off all the time unless I use an app that ask it, or I have to choose in the settings of ''Internet Connectivity...'' the ''Never run'' option It was on ''ask every time''

power consumption is based on a lot of different variables, how do you use your phone, do you have any apps running in the background and if yes what are they are do they consume much power, what else do you do with your phone. now i consider myself a power user and i am happy if my phone lasts me one day that is approx. 12-16 hours. i have to charge my phone nightly. so if you hardly use your phone and just let it be then 24 hours is not much but if you listen to music, surf the web, text a lot , call and receive calls etc. then it might be within reason to have such a standby time.

somewhere in the wifi settings you should have an option to turn it off it may not state turn off but searching mode or something . play with those settings and see if it makes any difference. sorry i am currently testing a phone that does not have wifi hence i can't even look exactly at what it might say in options.

N95 is the legend of poor battery life
All other users are getting 2-3 days with the 5800 and I am not a heavy user like them

Yes you can turn of the wifiscan to never search for wifi connections in the connection->wireless menus. Otherwise it will scan for connections in every 1,5 or 10 minutes of period depends on what you marked, and that will of course consume some battery. In a suggestion from Phat i changed my advanced preferences to disable the wifi powersavings mode and got a more stable and faster wifi connection then before, thanks Phat, So i only scan for wifi when in use of a connection and it works like a charm.
