@ Tompzen : yes, sumtimes i let my music application idle..but i quickly turn it off..and i'm serious about the 3 hour..okay, even if i dun use any application at all, at the end of the day, my battery's power has been reduced 2 bars, from 7 bars - 5 bars..i dun think that's normal if compared to battery's power as claimed by nokia that can hold out 406 hours of stand-by time..

@ Phat^Trance : how can i turn off the WIFI scanning and 3G? maybe that's the problem..

and one question, it appears that when i use music player application and plays song with speaker, it consumes battery power just like if i call a friend..but when i use headset, the battery seems fine (1 1/2 hour using music player, the battery bar still full) ..is it normal?

    thanks for responding..appreciated it!

There could be many reasons.... as stated above, wi-fi scanning could be on. Bluetooth could be on. 3G could be on and searching. Background data may be downloading like Mail4exchange. You music player will use battery as other apps will too. Even headphones can cause the power to drain. Try using it in offline mode after a full recharge and see if the problem is still there. It could just be a bad battery.

nope then new batteries only require 2-4 hours for a full first charge. it used to be the case with the old battery packs, not anymore. now once you see a phone charged sign you are done and on your way. now it does take few charge cycles to actually reach battery's full potential but you do not have to charge it for outrageous amount of hours anymore. those times are gone.

my battery can last me approx 2 days. I leave the slick msn prog running in the background idle whenever i'm at home. Usually with wifi on for more than 12hrs. I do frequent web surfing at least 3hrs..

It depends on how you use it, I can drain my battery in 2 hours time! I surf internet using my EDGE connection and at the same time listen to music using the stereo bluetooth headset and sending file by BT OBEX and using Slik to chat with MSN, Yahoo.

Try it see if you can drain faster than mine

    # My normal use like answer phone call, check emails send sms/mms and surf internet for info, the battery will last me 2 to 3 days.

    Hello!

This phones battery issue seams to more and more like the iPhone 3g problem. If you put all options to off it will be ok
    Why??

usually what i do when i suspect there's an energy leak or power is consume more that normail, i installed nokia energy profiler, but with 5800 you cannot change the view and setting, it still worked, you can still see the power level thou. Emailed them about the compatible for 5800, they replied with coming soon.
