Default Re: Nokia 5800 (Official WiFi Thread)

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me, when I'm browsing, I specify to use my WLAN, will this mean the phone cannot connect using GPRS without it explicitly asking so, because I was on the mobile.live.com, the browser loaded a page saying I needed to use GPRS but then just loaded the page anyway, does this mean it used GPRS, also, with the Slick messenger, can this just use wifi or does it need to use GPRS?

    Thanks

    Slick can use both.

If the page you're on loaded, check to see if you have the wi-fi tower signal. If it is not on, then you are connected via GPRS.

foremost, is there a wlan connection around you? is there a hotspot? and provided there is, you're trying to connect to it yet you're phone connects to the web via GPRS? is that the concern?

if it is so, try this:

go to Internet-->options-->settings-->general-->access points-->set it to always ask

*always ask so if there is a wifi connection present and want to connect to the web thru it it will connect via the setting...

i had once experienced in my nokia e65 that i get GPRS setting then i have save it as the default access point, and even there is a wifi, i kept on connecting using the GPRS, when i changed the access point to always ask/default i was able to connect thru wifi...

    hope it will help you

Do you use the option, "start browsing" or "connect"? Also, what is your default homepage?
