The phone will search available networks. Select one and click Connect.
T-Mobile is another access point defined in the phone, which connects to internet using GPRS/3G via operator.
I selected our college wifi and after connecting halfway it appear the T-mobile stuff. I did not choose the T-Mobile internet.

You can try to delete the college access point in the Destinations-Internet list. That way Opera will have to look for the next available access point (home). Check also Opera settings (sorry, I'm not using it, so can't guide you through it).

Get to the Destinations - Internet - T-mobile - Options - Edit - Use access point: set this "After Confirmation".

    Yes it will be free.
Either 1) go to Connectivity-Wireless LAN, scan for available networks, select your home WLAN and connect, or 2) go to Connectivity-Destinations-Internet-Options-New access Point, scan for available networks, select your home WLAN and connect. It will appear in Internet submenu as an access point.
Next time you open the web browser it should ask you to select a connection. Select home WLAN and surf.

Is your WLAN on and visible? The phone should scan for available networks and give you a list of them.

yeah so this is what ive done, i deleted the wap access points, and then added my home network and put in the security code, my network comes up normally and it says "known" underneath, then i hit connect and it connects a bit then flashes with the message above...

Should I be resetting my router or something? thanks for the help
