Default 5800 XM hard reset? on v11??

how do i reset my phone, after doing some searching people keep saying some along the lines of *#7370* or something, but this is only a soft reset, also the hard reset solution some have put forward is by pressing the green, red and camera button while its turning on, but thats for firmware 20, ive got firmware 11 on my 5800 so is there any other solutions

read the forum before asking these questions

this thing has been mentioned a zillion times
    *#7370# is hard reset
*#7780# is soft reset (factory settings )

these codes work independent of firmware or phones

    hard restet on 5800 is

red/green/camera button all at once with phone turned off this is for all firmwares with dead 5800 phones only

the *#7370# is the phone reformat and u can say hard reset if your phone is in working order

the three finger salute is usually done if your phone is totally dead

the soft reset you might consider is *#7780#

the three finger salute is usually done if your phone is totally dead
if it is totally dead u cant use it

it is more useful when u have lost security code or u cant type *#7370#

well no that is when you do use the three finger saltue, when your phone no longer turns on after a faulty firmware update and such. if this does not work the only other thing that you can do that will NOT void your warranty is to take it to nokia care point, if you don't care about voiding your warranty you can always use phonenix to try to restore it.

afaik when ur phone is bricked or dead u cant use it .

it can be used when ur phone is alive ...
if ur phone has gone thru a fualty firmware upgarde u will have to reflash it ...hard reset wont work or do anything

yes you can that is what i did to my n82, n95 and of course my n85 so i know it works in certain completely dead situations. i have been blessed that i was always able to restore a completely dead phone. now there are many that are not so lucky so there are various steps that one can take in order to check and see if something can be done short of taking it to the nokia care center for service.

this is a really good link that takes one through the steps of a failed firmware tho it applies to any dead phone/bricked phone due to various circumstances.
