The games are smoother on the N95 & 8GB version because of a dual processor, one is only for phone use and the other one is designed for multimedia (games/music/video). Whereas on other phones its shared for both phone/media, that makes all non-dual processor N-gage phones less good, gamewise.

as i said before ngage games dont use api to make use of 3d h/w ....so 3d h/w isnt use ...
only games based on open gsel source utilise it

more over its not excatly dual processor
if u look at omap 2420 architectute it has two cores
one is dsp core at 220mhz which takes care of your radio functions
and second is arm11 at 332 which takes care of all other funcions
if u put your phone in offline mode then it runs only on arm core
then there is iva ( imaging and video accelerator )which takes care of mutimedia
    and there is 2d/3d accelerator

raging thunder is a game that is suppose to make use of hardware accelaration
so i think 5800xm supports it

mufaddal, thanks for such useful info regarding the architecture.
I was just thinking why nokia put these dual processor and 3D accelerator in n95 & n82 if they aint supposed to contribute to prformance?
These things have contribution towards higher cost of these mobile phones as well. Ppl have paid for it.

Nokia has a gaming platform based on cheaper 2d hardware and doesn't want to destroy it with modish Open GL 3D games. When N-Gage got decent 3d hardware - then good 3D games will be released. Until this time comes - there are better gaming phones then Nokias, so nobody is forcing you to buy outdated Nokia devices.

there was decent 3d hardware ...but nokia decided to drop that and go for freescale chipsets ...
some actions of nokia can never be understood

ifact fp2 devices with freescale chipsets have kastor ui which is even better than the ones in n95
also the battey life is nothing to do with 3d h/w ...infact in most cases battery life is optimised by implementing dynamic voltage stabilisation in firmwares ...

there have been these phones on omap 2420 for a while but every few apps havw api to use the 3d accelerator ...

also freescale chips wihich nokia uses in new phones have integrated 3d h/w accelerators which are clocked at lower frequency than one in omap

the point here is we need apps wihich make use of this hardware ...
having n958gb myself i havent felt any use of having such a gr8 chipset
Great info indeed, I didn't know about those, thanks man.
