Default Re: how to reset lost security code in new bb5 phones (5800/n97/n96/n85/n79etc)

I've made my phone dead because of this tutorial..

After searching and experimenting, I can revive my phone back and this tutorial is just an additional method to the current method on the net to revive the phone.

For those who still cannot revive your phone after resetting and formatting it using phoenix, it is because your pm file is still the reset pm file and this method is just to write your pm file back with the original pm file.

or i can call it write pm while the phone is dead

    what you need:
    1. YOUR ORIGINAL PM FILE
    2. if you dont have, find the pm file here --> http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f421...ar3000-685395/

    what to do:
    1. follow THE TUTORIAL TO FLASH YOUR PHONE USING PHOENIX. The link is after this.
    2. JUST BEFORE YOU CLICK ON REFURBISH --> CLICK THE 'OPTION' BUTTON AND TICK 'Stay in Flash Mode'
    3. link to the tutorial --> http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum...ad.php?t=83356
    4. after refurbish has finished, your phone is still in flash mode where the nokia logo is always shown and never go to black screen
    5. Using JAF just like this tutorial that dead your phone, tick the write PM and click on service, (warning popup appear and just continue) choose your ORIGINAL OR correct pm file
    6. click on any 'ok' button after the process is done
    7. unplug your usb and your batt to shutdown the phone because your phone is still in flash mode
    8. switch on your phone back and it is revived!!

Works for me just before I wanted to cry.. :P

I hope this method can help you all..

jinjro: i tried to follow your step by step instruction...but i have 1 question.

    when i refurbish,this came out:

    Flashing started
    Creating product data items list
    Product data items list created
    Backup not required
KeepProductInFlashModeAfterFlash is supported only for FPS-X devices. Ignoring the flag
    Flashing phone
    Initializing
    Scanning image files...
    Waiting for USB device...
    1. Make sure USB cable, Battery and charger are removed from device.
    2. Insert USB cable to device
    3. Insert Battery to device
    4. Insert Charger to device
    --- Press phone's power button! ---

KeepProductInFlashModeAfterFlash is supported only for FPS-X devices. Ignoring the flag <====is this thing normal...and should i continue whats FPS-X device is actually?

Hi ive a bit of a complicated problem!

My friend has a 5530 and her little brother changed her lock code, now she cant use it at all!
The problem is that the phones stuck in offline mode, if i put a sim in it says continue using in offline mode yes or no? whichever you choose it just asks for lock code
JAF os NSS won't pick up the phone as its in offline mode
I cant do a hard reset as it doesn't have the physical keys and the *#7370# code just asks for lock code again!

any ideas on how to solve this?
