Default Wi-Fi with EAP-PEAP connection issue.

So, I'm trying to connect to my school's wi-fi, I know the username and password; The school uses EAP to authenticate, I tried EAP-PEAP with the MSCHAPv2 addon but it keeps saying the authentication failed, I think it's because I didn't select any authority certificate but it's not required to connect. My friend can connect perfectly through his iPod.

I tried everything to no avail. What should I do?

    Hi.

I was having the same issues with my college internet, but they have a web page on troubleshooting network problems here that solved it for all symbian OS (I have a 5800XM v50). The instructions were availiable in portuguese...I tried to translate the best I could.

Download & install University certificate on cellphone.
    Options > New access point.
    Name: eduroam
    Data proveider: wireless LAN
    WLAN name: eduroam
    WLAN mode: Public Infrastructure
    WLAN security: 802.1x
    WPA/WPA2: EAP
    Defs. of EAP:
Deactivate all options & leave only EAP-PEAP active. Configure EAP-PEAP options:
    Personal Certificate: not defined
Autority Certificate: choose your school's certificate (in my case i use the one in .zip)
    name: user defined
username: put your username with @xxx.xx (my case: a8943@ubi.pt )
    Realm in use: user defined
    Realm: leave empty
    allow PEAPv0: yes
    allow PEAPv1: yes
    allow PEAPv2: yes
    click right, to EAPs menu.
Deactivate all options & leave only EAP-MSCHAPv2 active. Configure EAP-MSCHAPv2 security options:
    username: the same used before
    ask for password: No
password: put the one relative to your login

I can detect and connect to wi-fi when i'm in class, but the network is a lot "blocked" (i cannot make video calls, downloads and stuff like that).

I have friends with iPods that also do not need to configurate anything to connect, with nokias you have this issues with certificates (maybe not with hacked phone...but not my case anyway).

    Hope this can help...

I'm Portuguese too by the way, and the problem, as I said earlier, is that my school's network doesn't use any authority certificates, so I don't know what to put it as.

I still can't connect to my University's network either. As you guys, it uses eduroam. I'm also constantly getting 'authentication failures'. I've tried several CA certificates and a combination of EAP-PEAP and EAP-TTLS settings, but still can't connect to eduroam.

My University said they didn't have CA certificates and you have to have PAP authentication in order to connect to eduroam.

In both your cases you better ask at the school's network center for help...fortunately for me here they supply us with a certificate for symbian devices... Maybe if anyone knows a way to hack or bypass eduroam or other internal network certificate, it would be a help too.

I wished the network support center at out school knows how to connect Symbian -.- All they say is that PAP is obligatory to connect to the school's network.
