    For playback on N97/S60v5:

    Container: MP4
    Video codec: MPEG-4
    Screen res: 640x360 (or 640x352)
    Display aspect ratio: 16:9 (1.77
Video bitrate: as original, up to 3000kbps (I use 1200kbps max)
Frames per second: as original, up to 29.97
    Audio codec: AAC
Sampling frequency: as original (usually 41kHz or 48 kHz)
Audio bitrate: as original (I use 96 kbps max)

Higher the bitrates, fps, etc, the bigger the output file size.

Transfer to Videos folder using mass storage mode, use safely remove hardware in taskbar before disconnecting.

I use SUPER, Avidemux, and Handbrake for conversions at present.

Often when movies with 2.35 aspect ratio are converted to 640x360 16:9, which has 1.778 aspect ratio, you'll get some image stretch in the converted file. This can be avoided by cropping pixels left and right, you need a calculator to work it out. I always convert to full screen 640x360 because I don't like letterboxing on portable devices.

Not keen on the one-touch predefined format converters myself as don't have much control over output file.
