Default First look at the Nokia C6

The folks at Mobile-Review takes a look at the Nokia C6. The Nokia C6 positions itself significantly higher in the hierarchy of devices, sporting a 16:9 3.2" touchscreen and slide-out QWERTY. Other hardware goodies that have found their way onto the C6's body include a 5MP camera with flash and autofocus, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3.5mm jack. It is, of course, powered by Symbian^1 (S60), so nothing new under the sun here. Not surprisingly, users will have access to a plethora of Ovi services, including Store, Music, Chat and Mail. Head over to this post to read the review.

For your first question, did you read any of the 3 lines in the opening post?

For your second, how would it function without a cpu and RAM?

Seems to me that the gentleman who wrote this review (Martin Elm) is salivating over the iPhone 4G's purported 2nd camera for 2 way video calls. OH, WAIT. My 5800XM has had this capability since 2008 and at...OH WAIT...a material fraction of the price S.Jobs has and continues to demand. To me the article misses the point. The whole purpose of the C6 is to LEVERAGE Nokia's scale in order to deliver solid and capable SMARTPHONE's to the masses...the B.R.I.C. masses. Yes, the build quality is not going to be a benchmark...but we can be rest assured it is robust. My 5800XM remains without a scratch after well over a year...I bought a cheap silicone cover and screen protector day one. For sure, there are better phones than the C6 in terms of build quality and style. But in this price range the field gets very small...as the C6 is delivering a heck of a lot of functionality in a very nice package. I will wait for the first Symbian^3 from Nokia as my next phone simply because I have been very pleased with the 5800XM and enjoy the OVI ecosystem's competitive offerings. But this C6 is a solid offering and will likely drive volume to those who need a highly functional smartphone that better supports frequent texting. I can also imagine that with all of the firmware improvements made to the 5800XM (at least twelve by my count), the C6 will certainly benefit out of the starting blocks from Nokia's consistent commitment to this OS & UI.
