Default Best email client with notifications (push)

Hello dudes, I've been using the gmail widget for long time now and I've tried all the other alternatives such as the built in client, nokia messaging and so on.
The best one for my gmail account is still the official java app. The only thing it lacks is the automatic notification when there are new mails.
Does anyone know an alternative with notifications? Or did anyone modify the app in this way?

I'm currently using Emoze and it does the job pretty good.
I have used Profimail and Nokia's email app also

Does emoze run in the background so that it'll tell you when you get an email as soon as you get it?

Yes Emoze runs in the background, and connects on intervals specified by you. Out of all the apps i tried this one is the best in my opinion.

It does what it says it does. and its free, with no bugs.

I tried it but it would keep repeating a message saying that it had disconnected from the server, even though I had full signal. It would loop it over and over and over, rendering the phone useless until I uninstalled it.

depending on your data plan and how good your ISP is...if it shows a full signal it doesn't mean you're connected. look for the 3g under the signal bar if its flashing or popping up and disappearing, it means it a network problem.

    that's just my uneducated opinion.

I've a 5530, so, no 3G there. I enable Packet Data (via Edge) when needed, so that may contribute to the issue, but shouldn't Emoze tell the phone, "Hey, I need Edge, so keep that connection going."?

Where do you find the intervals? As far as could tell emoze is push. There is no interval, that's the whole point of push email.
