    I did. My point was that even if you have a "3.5mm jack without cord", the 3.5mm jack is acting as the antennae. If you didn't have the jack in there, you wouldn't get any reception. I could be wrong, but you can't know for sure that the jack itself isn't acting as the antennae, can you?

    you can check by covering the jack area with tin foil and see if it reception has significant change

    conclusion: the phone doesnt use the "headset" as an antenna but requires a plugged in 3.5 jack for the radio to work.

    so if someone makes an app that simulates a plugged in jack, then maybe its possible to use the radio without anything plugged in.

    I don't know about you, but in the good old days of crappy rabbit ears on TV sets, we used tin foil to improve reception, not block it. I suppose the real test would be to actually develop an app that uses the radio without verifying if something is plugged in first.

    if the tin foil is not touching the metal part it will block it, otherwise it will improve reception if its touching the metal part.

    it would be great!.......i think the printed circuit board it's enough to receive strong FM signals

    There's no use in running FM Radio without earphones. The signal is just too bad for listening.
