It may happen that RealPlayer takes its time to load the video codecs when you start a video. Loading audio codecs is lighter, so I think that is the reason for video delay. It happens to me too - video loading with up to 5 sec delay.

I don't think that Avidemux would produce worse quality with larger file size. You can load both converted videos in FF Media File Info and put here the converted file infos next to each other for comparison.

About FF auto cropping - this is just how the programmer has made it to function: no auto cropping.

if you see the videos lagging then reduce the frame rate:
Click Video>Frame Rate and reduce the value, if it still lags try reducing the value further.

    Same here.
Zune is the best with 640x350 resolution at 25 fps for s^1 phones.

I agree. Nokia PC Suite is crap, if you want good video conversion.
I use Format Factory, but this Avidemux sounds interesting.

It doesn't worked for me with MPEG4 (lavc) video codec, but with MPEG4 (xvid) worked good. Now with newer Avidemux even MPEG4 (xvid) doesn't work. Audio works on the phone, but the screen is black.
