Default Where to start? Want to make apps.

    Hi,

I want to try and make a mobile application, and though im gonna start with the s60v5. Does anybody have a good guide or something to get me started? I have no programming experience but i know some PHP and in general web coding/design, but something tells me that i have no use from that when making a mobile app :P

Edit: Im soon gonna convert to Android. Should i wait til i get the Desire, or isnt it so much difference from making a symbian app and a android app?

You should learn Python! It's the most commonly used language for free apps, and should be fairly easy to get started with.

An other is C or C++, but is way more complicated, but on the other hand also way more powerful when you know how to use it.

When you know the language enough, you should start to learn what differences there is in the coding for a mobile device. There is both different ways to code and what libraries that is accessible (especially with C on Symbian).

And about the waiting, you wont be able to learn programming before you have the Desire, so start learning now, and when you have it, learn the differences.

You can also try making some kind of widget (WRT) as they are mainly coded using knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript etc and given your web coding background, you may want to try it out.

For android you need to have JAVA knowledge mainly.
For symbian mainly you need c and c++. Like someone said, you can try making widgets.
