    I have it for more than a year, and I had the problem with the screen (cold screen), and had a problem with a earpeace. Regardless the bother I had to perform carrying phone to service twice (which was under warranty, thus free), everything with this phone is just great, and I did a lot of things with it - debranded, hacked, custom firmwared it... and it's still alive and kickin'

    Now it's up to you to decide whether you'll buy a new phone or an old one.

    Topic moved from General forum to S60V5.

    5800XM is a good value and still a good phone. Right now for that price it is hard to get something better.

    I think this kind of topic was talked before, but no mention about one year.
    Anyway, mine still 7-8 month. So far so good, not hacked (yet).
    Anyway, there's a one year extended warranty promo in my country (paid), so I registered my phone nokia care. Who knows I'll get lcd problem? It's quite expensive.

    I'm using 5800 for a very long time, more than one year and everything is ok with it, no service, no faulty components, so I'm satisfied with it
    I think the price is right and it's a good hardware too, the software part is getting better everyday. there are many apps and cool games too
    I think the 5800 is a good choice, I mod it for my own needs.

    I'm at 10 months. So far I've been too lucky to never having a major bug or hardware fault. ALthough I do have a minor bug in the fact that when I call someone from contacts, image wont show on screen, but if they call me or I call from log, it shows. Bleh, as if I need to see the image to know who I'm calling when I'm the one who selected from contacts. LOL. The more important function (during incoming call), is there, so no bother.

    I think you were a stupid if you don't buy it.
    However, it's €190 in my country, and I bought today (yes, today) a 5230. Not because of 5800XM, but... I'd like other touchscreen phone and 5800XM wasn't available in my operator anymore.
    And... what are the differences between 5800XM and 5230?
    Pros for 5800XM:
    + It has a better camera
    + It has a front camera (useful to Internet and Cell video calls)
    + It has a stylus
    + It's 4g lighter
    + It has a better conversation time
    + It has WiFi (very important, actually, but if you don't use, just pass)
    + It has more extras when you buy phone (8GB memory card against 0 - mine had one because it was Rihanna Edition -, PC cable, TV cable - it costs €30! - and adapter, to change musics faster)

    Cons for 5800XM:
    - It's more expensive (€190 against €140 in my country)
    - Music menu is still the old one (5230 has N97's already)
    - It has a worse stand-by time
    - 5230 is a faster phone (it least without SIM card)

    What both have:
    * 3,5 generation
    * GPS (Yes! 5230 has GPS!)
    * Screen (3,2 inches)
    * Design

    Now, make your choice!
    Cheers and good luck!

    And yes: I think 5800XM is the best phone ever!!!
