Default 5530 screen lights time-out help please

My first post and sorry to say it's a problem.

I've done a forum search and nothing turned up,so I'm forced to ask the collective wisdom
    of the site.

My problem is,whilst watching Youtube,Tvcatchup or videos from the memory card
the screen display lights go out after 60 seconds and I have to resort to tapping the screen
to continue being able to view.
I have looked in the Settings under Display and can't seem to extend the light
more than 60 seconds or by-pass it....any ideas how I can get round this annoying problem please ?

    Many thanx

hi, i had the same issue with skyfire.

There is an app in ovi store store that lets you change such display settings (not free).

Otherwise, you can google "light control" which is a free app that offers similar possibilities (harder to find). I have "v1.30" and the app is made by a chinese dude: "maocai luo".

EDIT: it works with touch too..

i only have v1.30 ... i havent tried that version yet.

However, when i had to reformat my memory card a couple of months ago, i encountered an "expired certificate" error stopping me from re-installing light ctrl... which pissed me off as I had installed the app just weeks before without problems (my phone isnt hacked).

I changed the date on my phone to some time around december last year and switched off the certificate checks and it installed again fine.

Perhaps you could try this? (please let me know if it works or not)..

Go to Menu>Settings>Phone>Display. There should be four options there, the last being light time-out.

If you dont like time-out, I believe using the YouTube app will prevent time-outs.

the problem is the maximum timeout is 1 minute...

Youtube app stops the timeout altogether, however, apps like skyfire don't. This means that yu have to tap the screen every minute to stop it going black (which will often displace the video in skyfire and/or pause it).

this version of light control is the one i use (couldnt get that v1.36 to work either). Remember to change the date on your phone for the expired certificate. Let me know if you happen across a newer hassle free version tho plz.

Tried that one and got 'file corrupted' message at install, altering the date made no difference, same message both times...
The built in Youtube app doesn't connect via Wlan,it appears to only use GPRS,which is deathly slow TBH.

Many thanx for all the replies, the search continues....
