    Default Nokia Messaging/Updated v10.2 (4)

    Hey my fellow Symbianites,

Was just doing a software update for my N97 and noticed that the email program (Nokia Messaging) had an update available. There's no changelog but what I note is:

    - You can choose the access point from which it connects without going through the main menu, just press options > access point (big deal)

And finally... (this one I requested nokia do back in november 2009)

    - In the previous versions, in the menu under the "What to Sync" tab in the main menu, there was an option "Delete emails after" and it was set to 3days and this couldnt be changed. I found this frustrating, especially if I had a few important emails which I wanted to have access to at any time. Well, they've now got rid of this option completely, I assume now that your emails wont be deleted after a period of time unless you delete them yourself.

Thats all, if I find any other changes, I'll update!

i also have found out another handy change. You no longer have to wait a while when deleting individual emails. So no waiting for the "deleting" bar to appear briefly before disappearing. This is only now there when deleting multiple marked emails. Try it out!

Can you do Windows Live (MSN) with it ?

I installed it, but it tries to go online via 3G (can't it be set to use WIFI) ?

Installed this update, works well for the most part...

The push email feature works great! It doesn't periodically drop the IMAP connection like the original messaging that came with the phone.

The 2 main problems I had with this program are:
1- When an email arrives, it notifies by sound that there's a new email, but it gives absolutely no note on the screen like the original messaging would... Neither the "New Email" note, nor the little envelope symbol at the top of the screen. There is supposed to be a visual note on the screen isn't there? I've gone through all the settings and have found no way to fix this! Does anyone know the solution?

2- I've read that this version would allow emoticons in Gmail, although they are nowhere to be found when composing a new message!
