    Default Email help needed

I set my email up on Friday and everything was working fine (sending and receiving). I installed Mail for exchange yesterday to see what it was about but did not set up the program as I probably won't need it. Since then I cannot seem to send any emails, I keep getting a message "unable to send message: *****@ntlworld.com" it then prompts me for my mailbox user name and password which are both correct, then it says "check mailbox settings"

    My outgoing connection settings are:

    My email address
    alan@***********.co.uk

    User name
    alan@***********.co.uk

    password
    ****
    Outgoing mail server
    smtp.*********.co.uk

    Acess point in use
o2 mobile web (same as incoming)

    Security
    Off

    Port
    Default

Any help here would be much appreciated. I tried to get rid of Mail for exchange thinking that it maybe has something to do with it but that won't go either.

    Thanks
    Alan

Try resetting your phone, *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default, *#7370# - Reformat your phone.

    Thanks Nasua.
I've managed to wipe off mail for exchange now. If I restore factory settings, will I have to reset up my email and will it do anything to photo's or contact lists?

You will need to backup your contacts, and setup your phone again, but photo's remain on phone, thats if you do a reset *#7780#. If you do a reformat *#7370# it will wipe your phone completely. Remember to do a backup before reformatting your phone.

Restore hasn't worked. I don't want to reformat as I will only be loading the settings back in that I'm using now, any other ideas anyone?

Are you using the builtin client? Or mail4exchange. I would verify the ports used for your email provider as default sometimes does not apply.

Still no joy. I'm using the built in client and have tried just about every setting on it. I removed MFE in case there was some kind of configuration clash.
