As in if you what to type www.google.com it will come out www, google, com without using the shift key?? Also when flashing the modified firmware does anyone happen to loss all the widgets on the home screen? THis is for the NAM version flashed with the chinese language pack.

    Hi dc5dd,

My keyboard is OK. I don't see the problem you said.

All your files and settings will be gone after the flash. So you'll need to backup all your contacts, bookmarks etc. first before flashing your XM. Good luck.

I don't have any of these problems you mentioned after flashing my NAM N97 with a Euro language pack.

I did lose the widgets but that will happen each time you flash your phone even with the original firmware. You can get the widgets back from the Ovi store.

The widgets was due to a restore of the setting and such. The comma/period key is still unresolved. This issue is driving me crazy. I have tried reflashing and using different language packs but nothing works except changing back to the original firmware. I think euro pack might not be affected because it has similar languages but chinese might be different. Any help THanks for the replies.

    Hi dc5dd,

Did you change the product code on your phone to download the Chinese language pack or simply flashed the Chinese language file together with the other original files?

    pchu

I flashed the Chinese language file together with the other original files. I've tried Taiwan RM-505, China RM-506, and HK RM-505 language pack and all of them come back with the same problem. I think this is coding difference between eastern and western languages. Here is some thing else that I found the period/comma/fn(apostrophe) is now comma/period/fn(comma), b/fn(") is now b/fn('), v/fn(&) is now v/fn("), and c/fn(%) is now c/fn(&). I think the mapping of the keyboard from the different language packs is not correct if I use the Taiwan RM-505 is lost even more, like the period/comma/fn(apostrophe) is comma/comma/fn(comma). I think I need a chinese language pack that is V28 at least.

    Hi dc5dd,

I tried both the "RM-356_21.0.025_prd.rofs2.V23" and "RM-356_21.0.025_prd.rofs2.V24" and they all work on my 5800XM with no problem. Good luck.

Note: My phone came with RM-428 20.2.014 firmware already loaded, and I've read that downgrading will brick.

Using Navifirm, I downloaded the RM-356 20.0.012 firmware, 0559383. (Ukrainian firmware.)
I also downloaded the RM-428 20.2.014 firmware, 0577454. (The NAM firmware.)
I took a file from the RM-356 20.0.012 firmware, RM-356_20.0.012_prd.rofs2.V05 file, and renamed it to RM-428_20.2.014_prd.rofs2.V17 and replaced the file from the RM-428 firmware.

I then flashed the "modified" RM-428 firmware onto my phone using phoenix, and now I have all the languages from the Ukrainian firmware on my phone.

I found no solutions or instructions anywhere which allowed me to simply change the language as there are no language alternatives for the NAM firmware.

So in summary, I just changed out the PPM file. 100% success, 20.2.014 firmware, USA 3G and my languages.

I was worried there would be corruption due to different firmwares, but everything works, thanks www.dailymobile.net for all the great information!!!
Congatulations!! Now you can learn Ukrainian!!

Will this work for N95 E63 or any other Nokia models?
