    Default Nokia X6 bricked

    Hello,
I used JAF to put custom firmware on my X6, using RM-559 (the same as my phone) It halted at the pooling stage and my phone started doing lots of wierd colours and visualisations then went black, when i turn it on it vibrates sooner than it usually does and stays back. I tried reviving it on Phoenix using the files from Navifirm with the exact same product code as mine using dead usb however that did not yield a working phone Is there anyway i can sort this or is it a nokia centre job? if so a ball park figure (in £) would be great
    Thanks!
    Will

ps i got this in phoenix
    Code:
The flashing failed. Do you like to retry the flashing?

    HRESULT 0x84210027 (-2078212057)

Firmware: Firmware updating failed. Error 0x8401F153 - Flash: Unable to communicate with the device after flashing. Check USB connections!

Could someone tell me how to do a hard reset? Do i press the red, green and camera buttons at the same time as the power button or after pressing? I'm pretty sure it just turns off after a few seconds after holding it though. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When flashing on Phoenix this happens during programming:
    Code:
    Asic CMT: Programming 96%
    Asic CMT: Programming 98%
Asic CMT: Verifying communication to device...
    Waiting for communication response: 25

Then i get the error code in the post above and it says flashing failed =/

    Ah I sorted it now.
I was using the 02 firmware but then downloaded the Europe UK firmware, flashed it using phoenix in dead usb and it booted up and completed install. I hope if anyone else has this problem this helps sort it and i would be happy to help if anyone has problems to my limited knowledge!

judging from this message, you should try to change the usb port say to a usb 2.0 port.

this is correct, hold the red, green and camera buttons. then hold the power button until it vibrates, release the hold on the power button but keep holding the three other, for future reference.

great to hear! i also have experience with some firmwares from nokia actually killing my phone, which is quite unreasonable, but if you know what to do, just get another set from navifiirm.

+1 to you for solving your own problem mate!

Thanks for the comments! I assumed if i used the UK one i would debrand my phone and hopefully revive it, turns out i was right worked a treat! Does this void my warranty now? or could i flash it back to the O2 firmware if i had a problem and the people at nokia care would be none the wiser? The wierd thing is it flashed ok just with the O2 firmware but when i replaced the UDA file to be flashed it bricked it, i assume there was some incompatibility between the rofs2/3 files and the UDA. The UK europe files worked a treat with all the CFW i've managed to download for the X6!

    About uda files.

they're actually easy to play with. you can hack almost any phone nowadays because of the uda file. when flashed, this will be your c:\ drive. so anything that is not put in it's proper place in the uda will cause failure to boot too.

if they are the same firmware version e.g. 50.0.005, then you can easily flash back to the branded firmware. just please don't make the mistake of downgrading, you will kill your handset.

    hope this helps.

Edit: I'm also moving this topic to Modding

Yeh, I had some v12 firmware that i mixed with V20 firmware, it worked but then i read about downgrading i released i dont want to be doing stuff like that. Is there any place where i can find more information on why it bricks the phone, im pretty interested in the inner workings of phones, how they boot, why they get bricked etc!
UDA files are good, im fiddling about with them and rofs files. It going fairly well

just like what 5800XM_User said that its not a firmware issue its security issue within the phone. nokia locked down certain files so when u downgrade it gets corrupted cause the older firmware didnt have the security it does now.

yes man, i think its with the rpl and pm files.. that's why we backup those files when downgrading.. and maybe, it's all with the core files.. so never ever downgrade bb5 phones without proper tools..
