Default Re: Flashing your Bricked/Dead Nokia 5800 phone using Phoenix

I just saw that 'zide' had the same problem like me (page 26 of this thread). Updated before with NSU, and flashed afterwards with phoenix and software from navifirm.
    I think that's the problem.
So anyone wo wants to update: Better stick with phoenix using the software by navifirm then mixing NSU with navifirm. Otherwise i can't explain it.

Maybe anyone has still some idea what i could try here before i throw my brick out of the window?

how about flashing it with JAF then?

try redownloading original firmware files from navifirm and flash again...

OK, i've managed to bring my freakin' phone back to this world.

    This is what happened:

After the phone was bricked trying to flash a hacked fw, i thought my phone was bricked all the way because at a moment it even don't vibrates any more after i push the power button, and JAF and Phoenix won't recognize my phone anymore!
So after charging for a day, i measured the voltage of the battery. And it was f**kin drained!
I tryed to charge with the adapter, and the charging lamp lights up, but the phone won't charge anymore!
Turns out that you cannot even charge your phone any more with this sh** electronic these days when it's bricked.
So i charged the battery seperatly with a table-unit and tried again succesfully with JAF.

This is how i did it:

First thing first: I have Windows XP installed as operating system on my computer.

Use the JAF-guide here: http://forum.dailymobile.net/index.php?topic=17667.0, which i also used in my case with a few minor changes to let it work for me.

Firstly i used JAF 1.98.62 in combination with the P-KEY emulator v3.

Then i downloaded and installed the "jaf_nok4models" file in JAF's program folder (overwrite existing) for recognizing my N97.

    I put my fw-files which i downloaded from navifirm in directory C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-505\ .
(Firstly i used C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\DataPackage\Products\RM-505\ , but then it strangly don't find any ini-files and the program stopped - Maybe it worked because there were three other files from phoenix in the product-folder where comes the RM-505 folder, who can say?)

Start up JAF wit P-Key Emulator v3 and goto BB5-Tab and Tick ini and wait till you can choose your phone model.

It now automaticly finds all the MCU,PPM,CNT and Ape-variant, and lights up green.

Further tick manual flash, dead usb, and normal mode.

    Hit FLASH!

Then (at point 9 of the guide) I pushed the power button, phone shortly vibrates…

    Flashing starts and finished succesfull.

It left my phone in local test mode, but all you have to do is to take out the battery for a restart and it's OK.

Afterwards i hacked the phone succesfully with JAF, which was my original goal, but it crashed before with phoenix, and i had also problems before that cause i never found any rp+ in the apps folder to apply the crack.

Also watch this when you want to flash after you revive your phone: At point 9 of the guide you need to have the battery pulled out, (phone stays pluged in the USB-port), start flash, and put the battery back in when it asks you to put on the phone. I did'nt have to push the power button, flashing started automaticly.

But in the end it all works out for me.

Hope i can help somebody with my case here...

Thanks @OREO27 for helping and especially the hackers who make it possible to revive our phones.
    Thumbs up!

try this, don't plug in the battery yet. do everything and then when it says that you need to tick the power button, insert the battery and don't press anything, it should start flashing.
