Default Re: Flashing your Bricked/Dead Nokia 5800 phone using Phoenix

    Hi.

I just wanted to say that I followed the instructions and I could get my Nokia 5800 back to life.

My Nokia was dead after trying to reinstall the firmware 40.2.005 using a different product code. I did that using NSS to change the product code and NSU to try to reinstall the firmware.

I went to the Nokia Care Center in Brazil. Firstly they told me that I had to buy a new motherboard(?) for twice a price of a new cellphone. They told me that the motherboard was oxidated. I told them what I did, then they tried to flash the cellphone. After 2 hours, they told me that there was no solution.

I was already looking for a new phone. I tried many methods to revive it... No luck... No clue. This forum helped me. I am very thankful to you guys.

I used Navifirm to dowload the latest firmware and included all the files in:
    C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\rm-428
It is really important to create rm-428! If you don't do that, Phoenix will say that DP1 DP2 are missing.
    These are the files:
    RM428_40.2.005_023_xxx_U01.uda.fpsx
    RM428_0577305_40.2.005_004.dcp
    RM428_0577305_40.2.005_004.vpl
    RM428_0577305_40.2.005_004_signature
    RM-428_40.2.005.345.06.rofs3.fpsx
    RM-428_40.2.005_prd.core.C00
    RM-428_40.2.005_prd.rofs2.V16

Then I downloaded the Phoenix Service Software 2008.44.005.36625

I followed the instructions, made some noob mistakes but could revive my mobile phone.

    Again... THANKS A LOT.

    Rahj

Now I'm not able to install Phoenix successfully... Everything installs except the main .exe file. I can't run the app this way...

I'm getting so tired of this...

Relax mate, these things take up time. You'll end up failing more if you're frustrated.

Here's the uninstaller patch for this Phoenix version. Unistall everything. Delete everything in the folder of Phoenix. Restart PC. Install updated version of Phoenix.

No, this is not working... I seems that AVG is blocking it but I've also disabled AVG and it still does not work.

Would you mind uploading the Phoenix executable.exe please?

EDIT: Nevermind, I killed the AVG process and it appeared.

    I'll try now.

Here mate. Also, AVG could be a pain when flashing and stuff. I suggest to turn it off while doing this and performing operations to your handset

No... Nothing changed with this new Phoenix... The same error occurs.

    ____

The flashing failed. Do you like to retry the flashing?

Then it's confirmed. Something hardware wise went bad, at least bad enough to not let us flash with a usb. From my side there's nothing more we can do without a JAF box.

I suggest you take it to a repair shop. If they have a JAF box, they can probably repair it.

If not, you can always go to a Nokia Care Center and tell them that your mobile ended up being like that after you updated with Nokia Software Updater. I'm mostly sure they'll fix it for you.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance mate.

    Anyone else got ideas?

Thanks anyway man! I'm going now to a repair shop and let's see what they can do for it. I could also go to a repair center but my phone is out of warranty now and I think that they might need too much time to repair it...

    Heeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllpppppppppppppppp!

Went to the Indian Mobile shops, waited 1.30h, and they said that they could not do it.

So, I'm back to the same.
