Not expecting anything that big from symbian^3, I'm probably one of the few people that are pretty happy with s60v5 (or symbian^1 as you might say) except for some memory leaks and the poor homescreens currently available. (i've used s60 quite long so I'm used to the interface and it is very logical for me)

Symbian^4 is the one I'm expecting.

No,I believe they've skipped Symbian^2 and went directly for Symbian^3.
    Also read this: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/nok...ues-2010-04-22

"We will not ship the product before the quality meets the end user's needs and demands," he said. He promised that Symbian 3 would be "more intuitive, fun and faster"

ok I've read the link it doesn't say anything about symbian^2. it says "several phones running that operating system would be launched by the end of the year" which is correct according to their plan. please see the official roadmap: http://developer.symbian.org/wiki/in...mbian_Platform

according to this roadmap symbian^2 will release in first half and symbian^3 in second half 2010

The Satio is capable of running Symbian^3. It has the specs needed for S3.

All s^1 devices that are not nokia made should be able to handle s^3

About s^2, they ditched it and they wont be making phones with that UI.

Nokia is not going to port whole s^2 to existing phones, only the parts of code (features) that are easy to transfer. This is done already with features like kinetic scroling. So we already have parts of s^2 code running on our phones.
Actualy s^2 was used to establish codebase at symbian.org and no real devices will be realeased with this OS. s^3 and s^4 will be used in retail devices like nokia N8
