Default N97 Death Phone Flashed with JAF Succesfull

Hello Guys i bricked my Phone a N97 RM 505 with Phoenix and a self cooked Frimware, nothing gone in the phone only a short vibrate.

I Follow the Instructoins in the Nokia5800 Death Thread, but i don┤t have found a MCU File, and i can┤t flash a death phone without this File.

You need the Files for a succesfull Flash:

    MCU Flash file: C:\N97\firmware\RM-505_11.0.021_prd.core.C00
    PPM Flash file: C:\N97\firmware\RM-505_11.0.021_prd.rofs2.V01
    CNT Flash file: C:\N97\firmware\RM-505_11.0.021_C01_prd.rofs3.fpsx
    APE Variant file: C:\N97\firmware\RM505_507_11.0.021_uda1_001.uda.fp sx

This Files are a example in your Folder is that the 21.045 !!!

MCU Flash file: C:\N97\firmware\RM-505_11.0.021_prd.core.C00 This File i cant┤t find, and i found a fix, rename this File in your Folder who do you saved the Firmware Files from Navfirm Download in .c0r example: MCU Flash file: C:\N97\firmware\RM-505_11.0.021_prd.core.c0r.

Then i can selected the File and start Flash my Death Phone.

For JAF Select Death USB, Factory Set, Normal Mode, without CRT and INI, because the INI can┤t find the Nokia N97, then selcet all the Files and press Flash, after that press short the Power Button on the Phone.

I Hope i can help any guys who have the same Problem, sorry for the bad english, i hope you unstand. Greets from Germany

Here is a graphical tutorial for flashing with JAF which is much better than the above. The key is the phone needs to be power off until it tells you to press power on now. Then press (not hold) power button once.

    Well, I fixed it

It needs 2-5 mins to install the drivers...etc
Windows will make some sounds after some minutes

then hit flash and click yes then the power button (Just a Click)...

    Now i have another problem

    Code:
    Finishing CMT session...
    Restarting CMT...
    Pooling phone...
    Phone not found...
    Second try...
    Phone not found...
    Done!
what to do. what to do!?

I did the same as the first post. First tries failed, installed nokia suite and it still failed.
So i thought my n97 mini was totally bricked.. However when i returned to my computer 2 hours later i gave it another (final) try. And it worked!!!
Selected the mcu/ppm/cnt/ape myself and used manual flash/dead usb/factory set/Normal mode.
Pushed the power butten shortly when JAF asked me to and there it finally found my mobile!

Don't know what changed because before the last try JAF couldn't find my mobile. Didn't reboot, didn;t do anything but i don't care because it works again

I dont think it is because you flashed 5800 or anythng, maybe you downgraded your firmware, check firmware version, reinstall drivers...what os are you using?

ok, from my experiencep n97/mini are great devices for dead flashing...you will almost always be able to get it back.
    Check this now:
see your original product code, get same version of firmware that was on your phone, put it in c:\program files\nokia\phoenix\products (i think)
    and run jaf

    check dead phone
    uncheck crt backup or something
check INI and select device from new window that will pop up.
when you select device, and when jaf load firmware, you will see combo box and firmware version there, select proper one.
Now, when everything is set up prepare phone:
remove battery, plug usb and remove it for now
then click on Flash button, jaf will ask you to press power button, now there is two ways:
-first put battery in and then to plug usb and shortly press power button
-first plug usb in and then battery and shortly press power button
***i don't know whay some devices will only work with 1st and other with 2nd way but friend of mine had n97mini with same product id and everything and it was different for his phone***
when lashing is done, pooling is not so important because pooling only checks if it has been flashed properly.
if you get same "display fade" then remove jaf and drivers and install it again...for some reasons drivers is not written well and may cause troubles...:S
btw, post fw version that were (originaly if you want to debrand it....) and latest and product codes
